Budgeting: “Here we go again. It’s time to prepare next year’s budget.”
After bracing yourself for the inevitable complaints, misunderstandings and delays in the budget process, you take a deep breath and hope for the best. Does anyone have a better way – an approach that reduces the complaints, builds support, cuts down on the stress of budget time for you and your staff and strengthens your organization? Using data collected from members in this summer’s Budget Survey, a panel moderated by Thomas Nordby will discuss common problems associated with the budgeting process and generate approaches designed to reduce the stress and effectively engage your staff. Bring your questions -and solutions- for a lively discussion.
- identify organizational obstacles that derail the budget process
- generate approaches designed to mitigate the obstacles, reduce the stress of the budget process and build board and staff support for the process and the approved budget
- build capacity for exercising leadership in the budget process
